    Herbs Recalled in Canada Due to Insect Contamination

    Herbs Recalled in Canada Due to Insect Contamination

    • CFIA recalls 10 Dion herb products in Canada due to insect contamination.
    • Affected herbs include basil, Italian seasoning and more in various sizes.
    • While there are no reported illnesses, consumers should return or discard recalled products.

    There’s an active recall on multiple types of herbs sold across Canada, according to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA). This is due to the “presence of insects” in the products.

    The 10 products impacted by this recall were from the same brand: Dion. They were sold in retail locations nationwide. The following Dion herbs, including printed UPC and lot codes, are affected:

    Check your kitchen ASAP, and if you have any of the recalled herbs on hand, dispose of them or return to your place of purchase for a possible refund. While there are no illnesses currently connected to this recall, contact a healthcare provider with any concerns.
