I also like to sprinkle in a little treat for myself. (You get it, right?) Well, this year, I’m eyeing a pair of shoes. Because this is EatingWell, I wanted an expert take. So, I called on podiatrists for their recommendations—and also drew on our real-world tests of some of these shoes, too.

It can place stress on the feet and lead to lower body pain over time. Instead, grab a house shoe like these fluffy collared slippers, which have a molded EVA footbed, which makes them supportive, but the rough rubber soles mean they’re sturdy enough for a quick errand.
