    • Aldi curry sauce makes it easy to enjoy authentic Indian flavors at home.
    • Burman’s Butter Chicken and Korma sauces are flavorful, versatile, and affordable.
    • Quick weeknight dinners are simple with these pantry staples from Aldi.

Indian curries like butter chicken and lamb korma are my ultimate comfort food. While I dine out at our favorite Indian restaurant as often as I can, it’s a bit far from home and getting there without some pre-planning is tough. Luckily, I’ve found a pantry item at Aldi, Burman’s curry sauces, that fills in the gaps between visits to our local Indian restaurant and helps me whip up some delicious weeknight dinners in a hurry.

Why Burman’s Curry Sauces Are a Must-Have From Aldi

As a huge fan of Indian cuisine, I find these shelf-stable curry sauces taste great and go a long way to make weeknight meals exciting in my house. Available in two varieties, Burman’s Butter Chicken Curry Sauce and Burman’s Korma Curry Sauce, these jarred Indian-inspired sauces are impressively seasoned and pair perfectly with additions like chicken and vegetables and basmati rice—all of which I can grab at Aldi.

All tasty Indian spices aside, here are three more reasons I always stock up on these Aldi jarred sauces on my grocery run.

    They’re Convenient

Cooking Indian cuisine is a tough order, as it requires lots of spices and chiles and more than a little time. On busy evenings when I need to whip up an easy dinner for my family, you won’t find me toasting spices and making fancy curries. Instead, I use these jarred curry sauces from Aldi to save time.

Burman’s Butter Chicken Curry Sauce is a blend of tomato paste, cream and spices like paprika, tamarind and garlic. The flavorful red sauce gets pretty close to the sauce served with butter chicken and chicken tikka masala at Indian restaurants, especially when I add a bit of heavy cream or butter from my fridge to give it some extra richness.

I do the same with Burman’s Korma Curry Sauce, a blend of coconut, ginger, cilantro and other Indian-inspired flavors. With a boost of extra creaminess, the sauce tastes just like restaurant-bought vegetable or lamb korma and is pretty delicious.

    They’re Budget-Friendly

One of the best things about Burman’s curry sauces is that, like many items at Aldi, they’re very affordable. Priced at just over $4 for a 15-ounce jar of sauce, they’re easy to pair with some vegetables or a protein for an easy weeknight meal on a budget. Throw in some low-cost rice (I’ve used everything from basmati to instant rice), and you’ve got a meal that costs less than restaurant takeout and tastes great.

    They’re Versatile

There are so many ways to use Aldi’s Burman’s curry sauces. In addition to a standard protein, vegetable and rice dish like you’d order at an Indian restaurant, I often use the korma sauce as a pizza sauce for a veggie-and-lamb-topped, Indian-style pizza. The tomato-based butter chicken sauce makes a great pasta sauce, and it is delicious tossed with some penne and a bit of grilled chicken. I marinate my chicken in Indian spices like turmeric and garam masala, along with some tangy strained (Greek-style) yogurt, to give it a perfectly spiced coating before tossing it with my saucy pasta.

    Our Expert Take

Next time you’re shopping at Aldi, be sure to look for Burman’s curry sauces. Whether you pick up the Burman’s Butter Chicken Curry Sauce or the Burman’s Korma Curry Sauce (or both) you will not be disappointed. Paired with some other easy-to-grab Aldi ingredients, like chicken, vegetables and rice, it’s a quick and simple weeknight dinner that fits any budget.
