The supplement will be stocked in 1,500 Walgreens stores, adding to the existing partnership that was announced between the two companies in September 2024. The previous arrangement saw Uqora, a subsidiary of Pharmavite, agree to stock its urinary tract health and UTI symptom relief products across 7,600 Walgreens stores and its website.

With the announcement of the recent expansion, Walgreens will add the In Control Bladder Support supplement product to the partnership. The product combines horsetail (Equisetum arvense), spicebush (Lindera aggregate) and three-leaf caper (Crataeva nurvala), which has been formulated to support normal bladder function and can help deliver improvements in two weeks, the company states.

The product, launched in 2024, adds to Uqora’s three-part protective urinary tract health supplement regimen: Uqora Flush, Uqora Defend and Uqora Promote.

“Uqora’s expanding product roster in retail reflects the broader evolution of the urinary health category, signaling its entry into the mainstream wellness conversation and highlighting consumer readiness for proactive, targeted solutions,” Carrie Schaefer, vice president of marketing and commercial at Pharmavite, told NutraIngredients.

    Addressing an underserved condition

Schaefer stated that Uqora is growing its omnichannel footprint to expand access to science-backed, alternative urinary and bladder health solutions. According to the company, a clinical trial allowed 90% of participants to have improved daytime frequency, 86% had improved urgency symptoms and nearly halved nighttime bathroom visits by taking In Control Bladder Support.

“As urinary and bladder health gain visibility, the demand is rising for approachable, proactive solutions that fit easily into daily routines,” she said. “The history of women’s health as an underserved category continues to shape consumer expectations—driving demand for transparency, trust and clinically studied solutions.”

Research conducted on the prevalence of urinary issues found that 61% of women in the United States reported urinary incontinence, with 32.4% of all women noting symptoms at least monthly. This high prevalence and greater awareness are driving consumers to be increasingly engaged in their urinary health, as well as the demand for more targeted, personalized solutions, Schaefer noted.

“With strategic shelf placements in areas where consumers actively seek health and well-being solutions, we’re building awareness and positioning urinary health as a relevant, essential part of the broader wellness conversation,” she added.

    Building trust

Beyond developing products and getting them onto shelves, Schaefer explained that the company is also working to educate consumers about urinary health and the solutions available.

In line with this, Uqora is investing in education and community building through the Uqora Collective, a digital space that allows its members to connect, share their experiences and access resources relevant to their condition.

At the time of writing, the network included 39,000 members connected through the platform, “because no one should feel alone when dealing with their urinary health,” Schaefer concluded.
