Huel Daily Greens Ready-to-drink (RTD) contains 41 vitamins, minerals and superfoods, as well as dietary fibre and adaptogens, such as ashwagandha and lion’s mane.

The product, which comes in three flavours – Apple, Cucumber and Mint; Blueberry, Lemon and Thyme; and Peach and Hibiscus – aims to bring ‘real innovation’ to UK retail, according to Natalie Stanton, Huel’s UK Sales Director.

“Consumers want drinks that taste great but also do something good for them,” she said. “Daily Greens delivers more vitamins and minerals than most juices or smoothies, with a fraction of the sugar, all in a refreshing, convenient format. It’s functional, delicious, and different.”

    Rising demand for RTD solutions

Huel launched its daily greens powder last year, bending its mission statement to release its first powdered product.

Initially, the product was created to fill nutritional gaps identified in competitor products, but the company realized that consumers wanted more.

“Our Daily Greens powder launched back in 2024 and has been a success,” CEO James McMaster told NutraIngredients. “We have learnt that customers are always looking for the most convenient formats so we decided to launch a ready-to-drink version.”

“Our goal was pretty simple: make a sparkling super greens drink that has proven ingredients with real benefits. By combining science-backed nutrition with unbeatable taste in a can, we’ve created something really special with 41 vitamins, minerals and superfoods as well as 3g of fibre in a can.”

The lightly sparkling drink is naturally flavoured and delivers 156 science-backed health benefits, according to the company.

Each can contains iron and vitamin B12 for cognitive function, vitamin C and selenium for immunity, and chicory root fibre and calcium for gut health.

Biotin and zinc were also included to support skin, hair and nails, while vitamins B6 and B12 were added to support steady energy throughout the day.

McMaster said formulating the RTD format was challenging, especially ensuring that the taste and nutrient levels were not compromised.

“We have an in-house development team and a lot of knowledge, being a business based on taste and nutrition, on how to make them work in different product formats,” he said. “We’ve packed a lot of nutrition into this product so yes, it has been really hard. The can means sunlight isn’t impacting vitamin degradation.”

    The future of greens?

The new product has been rolled across the UK and US markets, with the RTD cans launching in retail stores soon.

Julian Hearn, Founder and CMO of Huel said the launch represents a new category in the daily greens market, with plans to expand the roll-out further if the initial launch is successful.

“We created Daily Greens because the current options just weren’t good enough—they’re either hard to drink, hard to justify or hard to believe in,” he said. “By combining science-backed nutrition with unbeatable taste and convenience, we’ve created something genuinely new. This is the future of greens.”
