    • Margot Robbie reveals her on-set favorite snack: a “chippy sandwich” made by Colin Farrell.
    • The classic sandwich includes French fries, cheese, onion and butter on white bread.
    • Farrell’s trick for extra deliciousness? Smash it flat before eating.

Whether you’re a fan of Barbie, Suicide Squad or are looking forward to her performance as Catherine Earnshaw in Wuthering Heights, there’s no denying Margot Robbie’s range. And her range exceeds her acting talents, because while she loves nutrient-dense lunches like avocado toast, she’s also a fan of comforting English classics.

In a recent interview on Today, Robbie shared her recent on-set infatuation: a humble sandwich made by fellow A Big Bold Beautiful Journey co-star Colin Farrell. Made with white bread, the sandwich’s contents may surprise you—but trust me, it’s delicious.

The sandwich is simply French fries (or “chips” if you’re from the UK&I) with cheese, onion and buttered bread. Farrell admits that it was his “job every night to make her a sandwich” to bring on set the next morning.

Robbie refers to this quick and easy sandwich as “heaven” and her daily “treat.” And when presented with “chippy sandwiches” to have on air, Farrell shows how to eat it right: smashing the sandwich flat with his hand before biting in.

More formally known as a “chip butty,” this French fry sandwich has been a staple in British culture for generations due to its simplicity and easy-to-find ingredients. It’s carb-focused, which will promise some energy, and as someone that has enjoyed a chip butty at my local British-themed chip shop quite a few times, I can confirm that it’s worth the try.

It’s clearly not the most nutritious in nature, but at EatingWell, we believe that any food and drink can be incorporated into a healthy diet, as moderation is key. It’s obvious that this sandwich sparks Robbie joy, and if it sounds up your alley, we say go for it.

For a more nutritious potato sandwich, try highly-rated recipes like our Roasted Sweet Potato Breakfast Sandwich or our Roasted Sweet Potato & Beet Sandwiches. These handhelds provide similar textures as a chip butty without sparing flavor.
