Dimitris Tsitsikas was born in Greece in 1971, trained at the University of Athens Medical School, and qualified in 1998. He undertook his haematology training with the Barts and Royal London rotation, securing a consultant position at Homerton University Hospital in London, where he remained throughout his career.
